Matias Campiani brings over three decades of entrepreneurial and corporate leadership experience across multiple industries, including private equity, aviation, and renewable energy. He has a proven track record of building and turning around businesses, raising over $220 million in investment capital, and successfully restructuring and scaling four companies to profitability. As a co-founder of Leadgate, Matias spearheaded transformative projects, including the turnaround of Pluna Airlines and Parmalat Uruguay, both of which have been featured in business school cases at Harvard and Wharton.
Matias has held leadership positions in multinational corporations such as Alcoa, where he implemented strategic divestitures and cost-saving initiatives across Europe. His ventures include launching and exiting start-ups in health technology, tablet PCs, and renewable energy. As CFO of StarCore Nuclear, Matias is focused on advancing the company’s mission to develop Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) using High Temperature Gas-Cooled Reactor (HTGR) technology.
Matias holds an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Universidad Católica Argentina. Fluent in Spanish, German, and English, he has worked extensively in the Americas, Europe, and Asia. In his free time, Matias enjoys fitness, restoring classic cars, and playing the saxophone.
